The week started off well once I finally finished building the chicken tractor.
All that was needed was the corrugated metal sheets to line part of the top and sides of the enclosure, chicken wire to line the entire chicken tractor, and I needed to build the frame for the removable top piece.
The design is based off of Joel Salatin’s chicken tractor, but I made a few of my own changes.
I made the removable top piece slightly larger than Joel’s design and the enclosure has more shade from the corrugated metal. The amount of supplies I had limited my ability to replicate Joel’s chicken tractor, but maybe that’s a good thing. We will have to see how this design works out.
The final piece of the puzzle for this as of now is obtaining the chicks.
